What is the protein source?

The primary source of protein in our mixes is wheat. Wheat protein, also known as seitan, is derived from wheat gluten, the protein found in wheat. Wheat protein provides a rich source of plant-based protein, making it a great choice for those seeking meat alternatives.

COOKING

Do you have to use water?

While water is the easiest option, you can get creative by using other flavorful liquids. Vegetable broth, diluted marinades, sauces and salsa, and even beer can be added to our plant protein mix for enhanced taste. Feel free to experiment and be creative with different liquids to customize the flavor to your liking.

Do I need to add salt?

Our mixes already contain salt, but they are intentionally designed to be lower in salt compared to some other products. If you prefer your foods to be more seasoned, you can certainly add additional salt to the mixture or incorporate a flavorful liquid during the mixing or cooking process. Remember that it's easier to add salt than to remove it, so it's best to start with a conservative amount and adjust to taste as needed. Feel free to experiment and find the right balance of flavors that suits your preferences.

What is the best cooking method?

Once combined with water, the mixture is best cooked in a moist environment to achieve optimal results. Here are some recommended cooking techniques:

  • Pan-frying the mixture in a small amount of oil or cooking spray can create a delicious crispy exterior while retaining a moist and tender interior.
